Semester 1 success and starting the final leg!

As the end of my degree comes closer, so does the need for an update! To begin with, I am thrilled to share I achieved a 1st class honors on all my assignments last semester. I'm especially proud of this, as my experimental and ambitious nature means I don't always perform the best academically. But this new leaf has certainly left me optimistic for the rest of the academic year! I feel I've finely mastered the perfect combination of ambition and results; and I wanted to thank my fantastic lectures and classmates for all their support and feedback.

As one road ends another begins, and my focus now lies on my next steps and completing my final major project! As I begin applying for further study, my eyes are on my long term goals to specialize in production management for animation; and I'm so excited to share my love for storytelling and animation, with prospective courses and universities!

Meanwhile, my final major project 'Ava x Miles' has finally entered its animation phase, with blocking now complete and all signed off. Over the next two weeks we will wrap up the bulk of the animation performance; leaving just a few touches to the lighting and post-production before we complete the project. The short film has been a blast to work on, and pushed my rigging, animation and management capabilities to new heights. After all, Penguins don't dance, right? So, it's been a blast tackling the creative challenges to bring our anthropomorphic penguin couple to life; and I can't wait to share more about our story in the coming weeks!!

Outside of my University Course work, I've began scoping my second independent film 'Hana and Alfie.' I had so much fun creating my debut independent film 'Benson!!' but as I continue to grow, it's evident we could have done so much more! So, I'm really excited to use this new project, to build on the skills and lessons we've learned.

'Hana and Alfie' will use a smaller crew, more appropriate for it's smaller scale, so we can put more time into producing consistent and better quality animation. We've got a fantastic story to tell and an excellent team of consultants on board to develop it! Our ambitions are high, but I'm truly blessed with a great network of friends and professionals, on the journey with me. More to come soon! With two major projects currently in progress it's a thrilling rush, but that's how I like it! It's crazy to think in just 6weeks- I will finish my Undergraduate degree for good! It's been such a roller coaster, but after an incredible break away in Ireland, I'm refreshed and ready to give my all in this final leg! Onward and upwards!
